    An orbx convert?

Post by Admin on Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:18 pm

i am writing this through gnashing teeth Smile
Having added a couple of orbx's excellent airports to their trueearth south scenery i have to admit that it is pretty damn good and although my own photoscenery is sharper, orbx's colouring and forests etc make TE UK a more encompassing experience. OK if i was going to fly a airliner from the uk to elsewhere there would be no point using TE , so ortho would be obligatory, but if you are bimbling along at 5000 feet or less te uk is the scenery of choice.

the one thing that made me go the photoscenery route at the beginning was the fact that i know from first hand experience, everywhere in the uk south of the isle of man like the back of my hand, so when flying along i like to use a map on my lap as i did in reality , cross checking my position looking at rivers , roads railways etc, . this was not possible with default scenery nor orbx global, however you can with TE UK , ok you still cannot see your own house per se as you could with ortho, but this doesnt seem to be as important if all the other factors are present, so from now on if flying low and slow over the uk then TEUK has to be the way to go
    leaving Shoreham airport

    overhead Brighton

thorney island ahead and bomb craters in the fore ground , some filled with water

Hayling Island, i never realised how densely it was populated

And released today is Cardiff Airport, updated with last year's makeover of black panelling.  Hope it's fireproof?
